TOPIC 5 Centering Ourselves

If we are to thrive, then something greater is required of us. We must discover an awareness of what allows us to live, moment by moment, form a centered place from an awakened heart. (Lipsky, 2009, p.229)

Control and faith do not coexist well. Control will not serve you well as you move forward in the next phases of your life and in new relationships.

In this confusing place, you may experience unexpected emotions and thoughts. You remember feeling centered and in control, but now you're overwhelmed with questions, feeling constantly off balance.

To truly take care of yourself in a sustainable way, and to care for others, you need something greater than yourself. You must find a faith that will allow you to move forward from an awakened heart.

Centering yourself will come with a personal ministry, enabling you to experience God’s power in your weakness. You have been presented with an opportunity. You may feel ill-equipped, but this opportunity is an incredibly rich experience through which God will grow your faith.

At first, your personal ministry will be solely for the benefit of others, but later, you will realize that it was your faith that flourished.
